The hard thing for me now is to maintain speed and still keep "pinch twang".... Tommy goes through several tempo changes with his arrangement so I am planning to make an arrangement where at the end I go into speed that would seem to rival even some of the fastest heavy metal players. A Guiness Book holder for speed plays a heavy metal style axe with a "sunken bridge". Lifting your wrist over something to pick really slows us down lol .... Anyway, I am learning from my instrument that it is better to discover what IT has that is beautiful and unique, rather than to try to make it fit into my idea of how the instrument wails. One issue is that there is a world of magic with "shimmer" in a very narrow area near the bridge pick which is harder to access at top speeds..... still I think that my little "Johnny Reb" will rise to the occasion and even surprise me, if I can focus on how the instrument wants to express itself, rather than bringing baggage like when you are on the rebound from another guitar. LOL :-)
